Between this toy (brought to my attention by morganalilith) and this song I'm in a snarky political mood. The toy gives me sadistic pleasure. The most relevant portion of my current music (lack of capitalization due to source): cuz take away our playstations and we are a third world nation under the thumb of some blue blood royal son who stole the oval office and that phony election i mean it don't take a weatherman to look around and see the weather jeb said he'd deliver florida, folks and boy did he ever
and we hold these truths to be self evident: #1 george w. bush is not president #2 america is not a true democracy #3 the media is not fooling me

Forget not the days of old And recall the stories told Of the burnings and the screams Do they ever haunt your dreams?
There was a time when freedom died It was an age of genocide The Inquisition at the door The Church of Rome in a holy war
They broke freedom on the wheel In the madness of their zeal In the shadow of their wake The innocent burning at the stake
Children resist a return to the burning times People be wise to the power of their lies Be not fooled as those who were fooled before Children, oh children, be free, be wild
They came to bring the "good news" To burn witches, pagans, Jews Said they were the Shepherd's sheep Whipped old women through the streets
Then the turning of the tide From the truth they could not hide Now the darkest age has passed The Goddess has returned at last! In the current political climate, listening to Inkubus Sukkubus is probably imprudent. They're a pagan rock band with a distinct anti-Christian flavor in several tracks ( Wake of the Christian Knights comes to mind immediately.)

Well I knew I had to end up conservative somewhere.
( And now for an almost entirely incorrect music 'quiz'... )

Swiped from joisbishmyogaPresident Bush's iPod.
"iPod One," as the player has been dubbed, is used by Bush while he pedals around his Texas ranch on a mountain bike, presidential media adviser Mark McKinnon told the newspaper.
Writing in the London Times, Caitlin Moran noted: "No black artists, no gay artists, no world music, only one woman, no genre less than 25 years old, and no Beatles."
"This is basically boomer rock 'n' roll and more recent music out of Nashville made for boomers. It's safe, it's reliable, it's loving. What I mean to say is, it's feel-good music."If you could upload ONE mp3 from your music collection to President Bush's iPod, what would it be? Copy the list of the person you ganked it from, and add your own to the bottom. You may also, if you wish, choose to delete one from the list and replace it with your own. 1. "Tuesday Morning" by Melissa Etheridge 2. "Sorrow" by Bad Religion (it was either this or "April 29, 1992" by Sublime; maybe I should've chosen Sublime for the minority angle...) 3. "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls (puh-leeze... I HAD to) 4. "The Story" by Skittle-sama (and I hope he CHOKES on it) 5. "Cult of Personality" by Living Color (I figure a black rock band with a political bent would be just the thing)

Country, meet Hell and Handbasket. "Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost," Kennedy says. "As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society."Read the whole article.I'll be deliriously happy if someone can point to proof that this is a joke.

I really should blog my opinions on some political hot buttons. Other than my documented pro same sex marriage stance. :)

I'm slowly getting over The Sick. I'm only mildly congested now, though the sneezing has increased and my nose is hoping that it won't have to get intimate with tissues for a while. Unfortunately it will probably be a few more days before it gets its wish. I'm finding it interesting that the pierced nostril seems to be less prone to stopping up entirely, however it's a good thing I bent the screw a bit long since there is some inflammation. And I'm sure that's more than you ever wanted to know about the workings of my nose. ( BlogThing quizzes )
